'Coronation Street' actor Chris Gascoyne - who plays Peter Barlow - is surprised fans still like him despite his "flawed" character
Chris Gascoyne is surprised he doesn't get a hard time from 'Coronation Street' viewers. The actor - who portrays troubled Peter Barlow in the long-running ITV soap - has previously experienced storylines dealing with alcoholism and more recently the kidnap of his own son, and he admits he expected people to not like him because he is a "flawed" person. He said: "Well the fans never give me a hard time. They seem to like Peter, which is weird, because you really shouldn't. He's an idiot! "He's a flawed character, though, rather than an evil one - so you ultimately don't want him to suffer something terrible."
